Sam Wallington

Favorite Core Value: Learn, Improve, and Grow - We challenge and stretch ourselves, each other, and the ministry to realize the full potential God has given us.

Sam Wallington first became involved with K-LOVE in 1988 after the Geyser Peak Fire destroyed the station’s transmitter site.  At the time, he was working as a contract radio engineer throughout Northern California and noticed the station was off.  Just a few days after the fire, he was able to help get the station back on the air from a nearby mountain.

In early 1993, Sam joined the ministry as an employee, becoming the sole engineer.  Reflecting on that time, he says,

“Almost immediately, I realized God used those intervening years to teach me the exact skills I needed for K-LOVE’s next chapter.”

Over the next six years, the ministry continued to grow, and in 1999 Air1 joined K-LOVE as part of the Educational Media Foundation family.  Sam’s had a front-row seat watching God open doors so that K-LOVE and Air1 now have hundreds of radio signals spread across the United States.

Sam leads the K-LOVE and Air1 Engineering team and says he is privileged to work with some of the best people in the world.  He became Vice President of Engineering in 2007, and in 2019 became the Vice President of Operations and Engineering.

Sam and his wife Sharon live in Northern California and have two teenage daughters, Nicole & Becca.  Sam loves riding “anything with two wheels,” especially his sport motorcycle. He is excited about the future and loves the opportunities God brings to every day.
